To provide geater flexibility and convenience, particularly for workers who struggle to attend during the day, the surgery is open on Monday evening 6.30pm - 8.00pm. This is strictly on an appointment only basis.

Whooping cough cases increase

Cases of whooping cough (pertussis) reported to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) in England and Wales have more than doubled from 421 cases in 2010 to 1040 in 2011. Increases in levels of whooping cough are seen every three to four years and figures in 2011 are in line with cases reported in the last peak year of 2008.

The repeat prescription system is fully computerised, and takes 1 working day for processing. Collection after 2.00pm on the following working day. In rare circumstances, there may be a delay in processing. We will, of course, try to minimise problems, but it requires co-operation from everyone to keep our repeat prescribing running smoothly.

Should you wish to have your prescriptions collected by any of the local pharmacies you will need to sign a consent form.

Delivery services are provided by both pharmacies in Thurcroft for housebound, elderly, and infirm patients.

Please make sure when ordering prescriptions, that you only order those medications that you need. Do not order every item on your repeat prescription unless you need them. Repeatedly ordering medication that you do not use regularly is very wasteful and costs the NHS millions of pounds every year.
